Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-service-focused Claims Clerk to handle work-related injury claims and assist employees with Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims. This role requires excellent communication skills, data entry proficiency, and the ability to interact professionally with employees, insurance carriers, and various agencies.

Salary Range: $41,000 – $45,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist employees in filing work-related injury claims, STD, and LTD claims with insurance providers.
  • Address employee inquiries in person and by phone regarding insurance coverage concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines by accepting and processing medical documentation for employees returning to work.
  • Process and deposit payments from self-paying employees upon hiring.
  • Prepare and provide documentation for bi-weekly Insurance Committee & Safety Board meetings.
  • Assist other employees within the insurance division as needed.
  • Process weekly wire payments for health, pharmacy, and work-related claims.
  • Perform clerical, secretarial, and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and reporting across various software platforms.
  • Interact with the public, employees, and external agencies in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in data entry and experience with relevant software programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Knowledge of insurance claims processing and HIPAA compliance is a plus.
