The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office Personnel Division is now accepting applications for our Academy Class 67 (P.O.S.T. Level 1 Full-Time Academy) scheduled to begin Monday, December 7, 2026.
This academy is a full-time, daytime training program. Applications will be accepted from current JPSO employees and external candidates.
Application Process
Applications must be hand-delivered to the Personnel Division.
Email submissions will not be accepted.

Selection Process
Qualified applicants will participate in a competitive testing process, which includes:
- Aptitude test (Patrol/Enforcement focus)
- Written test
- Physical fitness evaluation
- Psychological evaluation
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited senior high school or GED equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be a US citizen and be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to work rotating shift assignments and maintain proper attendance.

Duration: Approximately 6½ months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
